Fairfield girl stars in family film, Arlo: the Burping Pig

Fairfield resident Lindsey Blanchard, age 8, made her feature-film debut, starring in a family comedy, Arlo: The Burping Pig. The film featuring Jennifer Taylor (Two and a Half Men) and Joey Lawrence (Melissa & Joey) was released on Nov. 15 by Lionsgate on DVD and On-Demand.

Blanchard plays a character named Talia in Arlo: The Burping Pig. Talia is a young girl who finds and adopts a teacup piglet voiced by Drake Bell (Ultimate Spider Man).  Arlo helps her adjust to life in a new town while Talia manages to hide him in her house, narrowly missing detection multiple times. The piglet also helps Talia overcome the behavior of a bully in her new school.

The film’s director, Tommy DeNucci says of Lindsey, “I wouldn’t have wanted to work with any other little actress on the planet.  Lindsey is an extremely smart and talented kid.”

Blanchard’s acting career began at the age of 5 while attending classes at Fairfield Performing Arts Studio with instructor Jennifer Kenny. “Lindsey is a talented and intelligent actor who has an understanding for her craft that goes well beyond her years,” says Kenny.

In addition to starring in Arlo: The Burping Pig, Lindsey plays a supporting role in Christmas All Over Again, with Sean Ryan Fox, directed by Christy Carlson Romano.  The film was released on Dec. 13 by Grindstone Entertainment Group.  Blanchard also appears in Blue Line with Tom Sizemore, being released by Grindstone Entertainment Group in March 2017.
