Expired Fall 2014 Classes Grades 5-7 (Tuesday, 5:30-6:30pm)
-
September 16, 2014 - November 18, 2014
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
The class has a strong element of improvisation work. Through exercises that focus on making scenes “on the spot” or with short rehearsal, the actors are trained to follow their instincts on stage. It is important that students at this age begin to let go of how they feel they should perform, and instead start to just “be” on stage. In depth character work is also encouraged in these classes, to free the actor from their own pre-conceived notions of a role or scene. The goal of this work is to produce a more versatile and daring actor.
Class sizes are small to insure a safe & nurturing environment. This allows students to explore more freely as well as to receive individual attention. All classes consist of improvisation games, scene study, movement, technique, character development, audition preparation, voice and diction and an opportunity to build self-confidence!
Parent observation day will during the last class of the session.
