Expired Spring Session 2013 – Grades 6-8 (Wednesday)
-
March 6, 2013 - December 15, 2012
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Grades 6-8
The class has a strong element of improvisation work. Through exercises that focus on making scenes “on the spot” or with short rehearsal, the actors are trained to follow their instincts on stage. It is important that students at this age begin to let go of how they feel they should perform, and instead start to just “be” on stage. In depth character work is also encouraged in these classes, to free the actor from their own pre-conceived notions of a role or scene. The goal of this work is to produce a more versatile and daring actor.
Class sizes are small (maximum of 15 students) to insure a safe & nurturing environment. This allows students to explore more freely as well as to receive individual attention. All classes consist of improvisation games, scene study, movement, technique, character development, audition preparation, voice and diction and an opportunity to build self-confidence!
A “SHOWCASE” OR “SCENE NIGHT” WILL BE PERFORMED AT THE END OF THE SESSION
